The staff is AMAZING! Every time I've eaten here the staff has been friendly and courteous. The last time I was in there I wasn't happy with my lunch and they didn't hesitate to let me swap for something else...no questions. I will eat here anytime I'm in this area.

Was very disappointed, especially considering the price. Food was pretty tasteless. Would not return.

I have to say that McAlister's is one of my favorite semi-fast restaurants. By semi-fast, I mean that you order at a counter, then your meal is delivered to your table in about 7-10 minutes. One of the many perks at McAlister's, they also bus your table once you are too stuffed to do it yourself. (Tip is optional when you originally order, if plan to become a regular, I highly recommend in tipping). Their menu reminds me a lot like The St.Louis Bread Co.'s menu, with the exception of having a bit more of a southern flair. McAlister's is famous for their sweet ice tea (not a tea drinker) but those who are, rave about the stuff. I will say don't worry about looking like a nine year old when ordering the Grilled Cheese Sandwich and having Mac & Cheese as your side dish. It will fill you up and meet your dairy intake requirements, for an entire year. My personal favorite meal is the Angus Beef, cheddar cheese, and horseradish on a ciabatta roll (other options to either add or subtract from the sandwich) and my side dish is either their homemade Mac & Cheese or the perfectly made cole slaw; all rinsed down with the bottomless Strawberry Lemonade. My spouse loves their chicken wraps, and the children enjoy their Turkey Melts. This McAlister's is one of our three regular McAlister's, all depending on where we happen to be in Southern Illinois or Missouri. Nonetheless, each one seems to always be clean, efficient, and have smiling knowledgeable staff. Additionally, I can say at all three locations, I don't believe anyone at our table, has ever had to ask for a refill, McAlister's staff watch this very closely and even during a lunch or dinner rush, someone is always there asking if we like a refill, once their 36oz cups get even near or below a quarter full. They even ask if you like a fill up for the road. Go ahead give them a try, I don't possibly see how you could leave, without being completely satisfied.

I wanted to give this place 5 stars but my boyfriend says 2 stars. I had the chicken and dumpling bread bowl soup and loved it. He had the broccoli and cheddar bread bowl. His was pretty salty and I am not one to complain about too much salt so I understand why he says 2 stars. The staff was very friendly. If I ever come back to O Fallon I would definitely make sure to stop in. The sandwiches and "spuds" on the menu looked fantastic.

McAlister's is one of my favorite lunch/dinner spots. It's a soup and salad joint that has a twist: baked potatoes (spuds) with all kinds of toppings. My favorite is the grilled chicken spud. Any time I'm in Fairview, I make a point to stop by. But my favorite thing about this restaurant isn't the food, it's the kids night! Every Tuesday night, they designate a section for the kids. They have a table for coloring, a table for board games, a table for crafting, and a table for puzzles. The kids eat free, but that isn't even the best part. They have an employee in the kids section to supervise. They make a point to get to know the kids' names, and even took down my daughters favorite candy in the hopes that we will show up for their costume contest next month. I live 40 minutes away, but I will probably make it a point to bring my daughter up to McAlister's kids night at least once a month.

I've wanted to try McAlister's since they opened in Fairview Heights. Was really surprised to walk into the laid back atmosphere, it was very relaxing and welcoming. I ordered the Italian sub with potato salad and my wife got their club sandwich with mashed potatoes. A waitress quickly brought our food to the table and kept our drinks filled through the meal. Look out Saint Louis Bread you have some very serious competition. If it is your first time in there tell the waitress and she will give you a complementary cookie. Everything was great and I found my new hang out.

Off to a great start! I've always loved McAlister's ever since I was in college. McAlister's actually started in Oxford, Mississippi and then spread throughout the state. They started franchising in the late 1990's and finally made it to the Metro East two years ago when they opened in O'Fallon, IL. The new Fairview Heights, IL location is on the site what used to be Blockbuster video (which used to be the site of Christ United Methodist Church before they moved to Frank Scott Parkway - that's a just a freebie :) ) They have a large menu and the service is always great. The sweet tea is wonderful. My favorite is the Chipotle Chicken wrap - mainly because it tastes great and is only 9 Weight Watchers Points. Enjoy!

In my efforts to find food that is both delicious AND healthy (recently put on doctors mandatory orders to eat a healthy diet) I've FINALLY made it to Mcalister's. A pleasant surprise! I expected decent healthy food. what I got was good food and service uncommon these days. You are greeted immediately when you enter and your order is taken and promptly delivered to your table. I dont think Ive ever waited more than 4 mins. I have actually gone back 3 days in a row.. and I dont generally like to eat the same stuff back to back. The Tables are always clean and They come out and refill my drink without my asking them to. They are attentive but not overly bothersome. I will definitely be returning.. often. If you are nearby and looking for a good option for lunch or dinner mcalisters is the place. Tell Em Joe Sent ya! (This will not mean ANYTHING or do ANYTHING for you and they will not know who the hell Joe is) but eventually if I go in and introduce myself they might say "OH YOUR Joe! You send EVERYBODY here! and maybe I will get a FREE sandwich!

The Southwest Chicken Griller is just awesome, one if my favorite sandwiches. I know what's in it, but somehow the whole of the sandwich is so much better then what you would expect. I suspect that magic is also used, but can't verify. Besides having a great staff, very clean environment, and speedy service, this is one of my go to places when I am out this way. Have been know to move my schedule around a little if I know I am going to be close. Someone mentioned that if you tell them it's your first time there, they will give you a free cookie, I've had this happen on three occasions, never once told them that it was my first time.

I love McAlisters. There are so many great menu items, and with the Choose Two option, you can mix and match soups, salads and sandwiches repeatedly. I really love the Savannah chopped salad...pecans, cucumber, gorgonzola cheese, lettuce, chicken and craisins, eith a great sgerry shallot dressing.Very good tea. Efficient, helpful staff and consistent quality. We go weekly.

Stopped in here on the way home to get some sandwiches etc..to go. I was greeted right away and will say that they work hard on customer service here. All the kids working were very polite and helpful. This really reminds me of Panera and I ended up getting the pick two for me and my husband. All of our food was great and I especially liked the chicken tortilla soup. The place is also very large and would be a nice place to eat in.

Five stars for the tea! Good customer service. The food is bland. I wish they would put as much thought in the food as they do the tea. It is definitely one of the best tea's we have had.

I always get the same thing when I visit. The big nasty. Not today. today I tried The spud max!! Wow. I don't ever think I have seen a potato that big. Loaded with ham, turkey, cheese. It was fantastic. Way more than I could finish, and prices right.
